The Advisory Board is comprised of former Investment Society executives who continue to contribute and assist in the growth of the organization.

Zilu Lylliana Liang

Lylliana is a third year student in the Management program, streaming in finance and majoring in Environmental Science. Upon graduation, she plans on obtaining her CFA designation and hopes to eventually work for a corporation that values environmental sustainability. Lylliana served as an Events Director before taking on the position of Vice-President of Events. Some of Lylliana's interests and hobbies include shopping, travelling and eating good food.

Adil Rizvi

Adil graduated from the Co-op Management program with a stream in finance. In his past work terms, Adil worked as a Derivatives Administrator Intern for CPP Investment Board's Derivatives group and as an Associate Business Analyst for Scotiabank. During his term as President of the Investment Society, he imparted the financial knowledge he learned during his work terms to other UTSC students. He hopes to see Investment Society continue to cater to the needs of students interested in finance and to ultimately become the premier finance club within UTSC. Adil's personal interests include cricket, Playstation 3 and summer blockbuster action flicks.

Tony Jin

Tony studies Statistics and Mathematics at the University of Toronto St. George Campus and plans to pursue a career in Mathematical Finance. He served as the Vice-President of Operations and Finance for the 2009-2010 academic year. He had a lot of fun helping to build Investment Society up to what it is today. He feels that serving on the Investment Society executive team has greatly helped him to improve on various important business skills such as communication, networking and leadership.

Asad G. Hussain

Asad is currently in his fourth of business studies and intends on specializing in either Accounting or Corporate Finance. He served as the Vice-President of External Relations for the Investment Society for the term 2009-2010. During his tenure, Asad worked towards increasing interdepartmental efficiency within the organization, helped establish Investment Society’s Annual Publication, as well as founded and created a solid base for Investment Society’s Corporate Sponsors and Partners. He now serves on the Advisory Board for the Investment Society, and gives back to the student organization actively. Upon graduation, Asad plans to attend the European Business School in Frankfurt, Germany, at the International University Schloss Reichartshausen. He is very excited to embark on this journey and looks forward to gaining international work experience and learning a new language. The Investment Society has definitely helped Asad in achieving his extracurricular goals, by providing a platform through which he was able to develop crucial skills as a young professional.

Alvia Giash

Alvia graduated from the University of Toronto in November 2009 with a B.B.A – specializing in accounting. She is currently working at A. Farber and Partners Inc., a firm specializing in providing solutions to personal bankruptcies and corporate insolvencies. Alvia joined Investment Society as an Operations Associate to gain experience in events planning and to attain more insight into the finance industry. She, then, became the Vice-President of Finance and Operations. Throughout the first two years of Investment Society’s debut, she helped to build the organization through the logistic and accounting perspective. Investment Society has helped her gain insight on building and running an organization. It has also helped her develop leadership and strategic planning skills.
