Intro to Investment Society
Intro to I$ is aimed at helping UTSC Management Students learn more about one of the largest Management clubs: Investment Society. Students have the opportunity to learn about fascinating events for this school year, including the annual Trading Competition, Finance Case Competition, and the Breaking into Bay Street Event! You will also have the opportunity to learn more about the various departments of Investment Society, including Operations, Marketing, Business Development, Economics, and Finance!
UTSC Trading Competition
In collaboration with The BRIDGE, we provide students the annual opportunity to compete individually or in teams to experience life on the trading floor. Using the Rotman Interactive Trading Software, you will learn how to trade financial securities on a real-time basis and apply knowledge of finance principles in a fast-paced, simulated trading floor experience. A networking session follows the competition, where students can connect with industry professionals.
Breaking Into Bay Street
Investment Society’s Breaking Into Bay Street (BIBS) event provides the opportunity for students looking to gain insider knowledge on the world of finance and explore the many career paths within the industry. In this annual event, students gain the opportunity to ask questions, connect with industry professionals, and expand their network. This is your chance to receive tips on how to achieve success in the industry!
UTSC Finance Conference
Investment Society’s annual flagship event, UTSFC, takes place in the heart of Downtown Toronto and offers students a day packed with competitive insights, networking opportunities with industry professionals from top finance companies, and a stimulating case competition. Whether you’re new to finance or a seasoned enthusiast, UTSFC is the perfect platform to learn, connect, and compete. Portfolio Management Competition
The Portfolio Management Competition (PMC) challenges students to put their investing skills to the test in a simulated stock market environment. Participants compete individually or in teams, making real-time trading decisions to grow their portfolios. The competition includes workshops, networking opportunities, and concludes with prizes for top performers. Finance Unlocked
Finance Unlocked is a new event series by the Investment Society designed to help students explore different sectors of the finance industry. Each session features a panel of industry experts who share insights into their field and discuss career opportunities. For example, our very first session, the Alternative Investments Career Panel, highlighted career paths in areas such as private equity and infrastructure. This series is your gateway to exploring high-impact careers within finance!
